Our work has recently brought us together with Drake. The celebrated musician, producer, and entrepreneur has made some impressive additions to the Toronto nightlife scene in recent years; Pick 6ix promises to be his boldest contribution yet. While the world waited with bated breath for a look at the interior, we had the privilege of working with Drake on a number of aspects of the project, playing a key role in planning and drafting the interior layout. What’s more, we oversaw construction in order to ensure everything was top tier.
This proved to be one of our largest endeavors to date. Like any project, there were interesting challenges to consider. We believe in taking every step possible to ensure the needs and interests of our clients are being met. This restaurant had to be something definitive, and representative of Toronto’s current nightlife. At the same time, it had to be something that will go on to become an essential landmark in the city. Combining all of these aspects gave us one of the most engaging professional opportunities in the history of our company.

Pick 6ix – Under Construction – Acadia Drafting
One of the main challenges of bringing Pick 6ix to life involved adapting European designs and top of the line fixtures to Canadian standards. This is something that is often done through design and construction services. However, different spaces are naturally going to present different considerations. The Pick 6ix location is no different in this regard. Throughout this process, it was also important to maintain consistent communication with the client. It is vitally important to us that our clients understand what is going on every step of the way. We assumed this responsibility with Pick 6ix by taking on the role of consultant and construction project manager. This meant ultimately managing every aspect of the building and construction management process.
In addition to managing post-building inspections from municipal officials, we also made sure all permit requirements were met. Bringing something like a restaurant to life involves a multitude of things that must be kept in mind. More often than not, these are things that need to be handled simultaneously. Managing this pace can be difficult without the right company in your corner. Experience is invaluable when it comes to marrying creative ambitions with the realities of bringing something tangible- and beautiful-to life.
